It's the spring of 2020 and there is an unprecedented "stay at home" mandate not only in the United States, but all over Sector 001. To help add perspective to this unique time in our modern history, TrekRanks is looking at Star Trek's Top 5 "Sheltered in Place" Episodes. There are a lot of "in universe" reasons for characters to be holed up together or individually - everything from weather to war to malfeasance. On this special episode we cover every corner of sequestered Trek with host Jim Moorhouse and our expert panel of Charlynn Schmiedt and Kerry Purvis.

This week's show begins with our normal Diagnostic Cycle that digs deep into how we are defining a "Sheltered in Place" episode, with the key point being that these are "in universe" picks and not the episode you want to watch when you are on lockdown yourself. We then move into our Prime Directive, where each of our guests defines how they narrowed down their selections and made their final picks. With each Prime Directive being quite different this week, a lot of ground is covered in the picks.

Jim, Charylnn and Kerry then break down their final picks in The Order of Things by revealing their "Five Words and a Hashtag Summaries" and the episode that they think best showcased Trek's characters being "Sheltered in Place." Everything is in bounds this week, and the conversation reflects that. When it's all said and done, we add a few Secondary Systems selections to our lists of the episodes that just missed out.

After a quick recap of all the picks in the Regeneration Cycle, the episode concludes with a visit into a Temporal Causality Loop as we flashback to Episode 75 and our Top 5 Short Treks Moments.

As always, make sure to hail us at 609-512-LLAP (5527) and record your own personal TrekRanks log to let us know your Top 5 "Sheltered in Place" Episodes. Your comments might be used via a Temporal Causality Loop in an upcoming episode. And your recording might also be considered as an audition as a future TrekRanks' guest host.
