For the first time in TrekRanks history, we are doing a topic that flips the tables. Instead of choosing episodes from one specific series like we sometimes do, this time all of Trek is in play except for one series. It's the Top 5 Episodes that Feel Like TOS, where we get deep into the lore of TOS by picking episodes from other incarnations of Trek that feel like TOS. This is a fun one for old school Trekkies and new fans alike, featuring our panel of host Jim Moorhouse and guests Adam Hunault and Chris Burris.
This week's show opens with a comprehensive Prime Directive segment in which our panel breaks down exactly how they narrowed down their picks, and then our crews jumps into The Order of Things to reveal their picks via our usual "Five Words and a Hashtag Summary." Many of the picks feature references to The Original Series that inspired the selection, so the cuts go deep in this detailed conversation.
After going through a few Secondary Systems picks and a Regeneration Cycle breakdown, the episode then moves into a Temporal Causality Loop flashback to Episode 94 and our "Top 5 Cold Opens" with a great listener voicemail.
If you have your own picks that you would like to relay to us, please hail us at 609-512-LLAP (5527) and record your own personal TrekRanks log to let us know your Top 5 Episodes that Feel Like TOS. (Or you can record it yourself and just DM us @TrekRanks on Twitter.) Your comments could be used via a Temporal Causality Loop on an upcoming episode (and might get you a chance to be a guest on a future episode, too).
And don't forget to check out TrekRanks.com for our entire back catalog of episodes and a detailed rundown on every episode of Star Trek ever.
