Star Trek's amazing storytelling structure is well-known for its ability to take advantage of many different genres. Whether it be action-adventure or horror or comedy, Star Trek has touched every corner of those storytelling narratives. On this episode of the TrekRanks Podcast, hosts Jim Moorhouse and Jeff Hulit are joined by Mike Rittenhouse, the founding member of the band Five Year Mission, to unveil their Top Five Comedy Episodes through the past 50 years of Star Trek.

As this week's conversation begins with our regular Level One Diagnostic, our hosts briefly discuss their personal comedy favorites before then diving into the episode's Prime Directive to break down what guided their ranking criteria. Jim, Jeff and Mike then break down their selections in The Order of Things by revealing their "Five Word Summary and Hashtag" for each of their Top Five Comedy Episodes. The resulting 15 selections from the TrekRanks panel see XX episodes highlighted, including one from every series (except one!). As an added bonus, this week's discussion is littered with soundbites from some of your favorites episodes.

After a quick recap of all the picks in the Regeneration Cycle, the episode concludes with a visit into a Temporal Causality Loop as we flashback to select listener feedback from Episode 3 of TrekRanks, a detailed analysis of our Top 5 Recurring Characters from Deep Space Nine (as defined by one episode).

As always, make sure to hail us here on our website by leaving a voicemail and record your own personal TrekRanks log to let us know your Top Five Comedy Episodes. Your comments might be used via a Temporal Causality Loop in an upcoming episode.
